“Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do” Oprah Winfrey
“When you are content to simply be yourself and don’t compare or compete, everyone will respect you” Lao Tzu
“Trust your intutition. You don’t need to explain or justify your feelings to anyone, just trust your own inner guidance, it knows best.”
“Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.” George Patton
“You do not need to seek freedom in a different land, for it exists with your own body, heart, mind and soul.” B.K.S. Iyengar
It’s no secret that I love snacking (potentially the biggest understatement I’ve made!), and I especially love all those handy energy bars like Bounce Balls and Nakd bars, no refined sugars, no nasties, but a whole lot of yum and perfect for on the go snacking. Unfortunately for me, I’m on a student budget and buying endless snacks becomes rather costly, so I decided to see if I could make my own and ended up with these date and coconut bliss balls, so called because each bite is a mouthful of pure bliss.
“And suddenly… It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” Meister Eckhart.
The week after I finished my first half-marathon, I signed straight up to my next one, it was a bigger event, I was to follow a heavier training plan and I was full of enthusiasm, only 3 months until I started my training!
Those 3 months were possibly the hardest 3 months of my life.
One week ago today, I ran my first ever half marathon and, it may sound dramatic, but training for this event completely changed my life. I learnt so much about myself along the way that it became more than just a race and almost a journey of discovery.
